Methodology
Most investigations fail not for lack of data, but for lack of structure. Findings scatter across exports, screenshots and inboxes; context is lost; and no one can retrace how a conclusion was reached. Intelis runs the entire lifecycle — from authorised objective to delivered brief or continuing watch — inside one controlled environment, so every finding keeps its source, its collection context and its confidence from the first search to the final report.
The lifecycle
Each stage builds on the last without breaking the chain of evidence. Nothing is collected before the objective is defined, and nothing is concluded before it has been reviewed.
Establish the authorised purpose, scope and required outcome before any collection begins.
Select relevant sources, entities and methods, and set the boundaries of the work.
Run approved searches, connectors and scoped collection workflows, retaining full history.
Identify records that may represent the same real-world entity — without hiding uncertainty.
Reveal relationships across identities, organisations, infrastructure, documents and events.
Review sources, reject weak matches and distinguish established facts from open leads.
Retain source material, collection context and integrity information for later review.
Deliver a clear brief, relationship model and chronology — or a continuing watch.
Confidence
Intelligence is rarely binary. Rather than presenting every association as fact, Intelis attaches an explicit confidence state to each relationship and finding — and keeps the reasoning behind it visible.
Confidence states
A finding does not move up the confidence scale because it feels convincing — it moves because an analyst has tested it against the evidence. A single unconfirmed lead is marked unverified or possible; independent corroboration raises it; and a claim that sources contradict is flagged disputed rather than quietly resolved.
This matters most at the edges. Weak matches are not silently promoted into the network, and rejected leads are recorded as rejected — not deleted — so a reader can see what was considered and ruled out. The result is a picture you can defend: every conclusion carries its evidential weight on its face.
Where sources conflict, we surface the conflict instead of averaging it away. Human judgement, not automated certainty, decides how much any single signal is worth.
Provenance
Intelligence that cannot be traced is hard to rely on. Every item held in an investigation carries four provenance attributes, so any finding can be re-examined without reconstructing the work from scattered exports.
Where the information originated.
When and how it entered the investigation.
Whether the preserved material has remained unchanged.
Who verified, disputed or relied upon it.
Outputs
Engagements resolve into clear, decision-ready outputs — not a folder of disconnected searches. The exact mix is scoped to the objective.
A concise, decision-ready summary of findings.
The complete picture, with reasoning and evidence.
An interactive model of people, organisations and infrastructure.
Preserved source material with provenance and integrity records.
Every source, cited and traceable.
Events ordered from evidence, not assertion.
Findings graded by evidential strength.
Material changes, surfaced in context.
Note Intelis supports evidence preservation and integrity workflows. Admissibility depends on jurisdiction, collection method, authentication and professional handling.
